So I talked with the tire experts at tirerack.com about my concerns and they said these tires are strickly summer tires. The treads and rubber used to manufacture them is not for use at near freezing temperatures. According to them not only is the tread not good on slippery conditions the tire could fail in freezing conditions. For Michelin the recommended the LTX M/S2 instead
The LTX M/S2 is not a good choice for a trailer. Outer rib has breaks in it and it has a lot of siping, both which are not what one wants in a trailer tire. The breaks and sipes grab to much in tight maneuvers. 99% of RV'ers are not going to tow in the snow. GY G614 has a tread similar to the R250 and XPS rib.
We traveled back and forth to Arizona on Ribs and BS R250s in below freezing to 90+ degrees without a problem.
