Again just passing on the info from Michelin take it for what its worth and again thanks to all who help me out.
We've heard all this before and has been discussed many many times on this and other trailering forums. No where in Michelin XPS Rib advertising do they mention the tire is a summer tire only. As was mentioned before about phrasing questions your answer from Michelin is a classic example of what not to say which can back the tire maker into a corner.
Commercial users run the XPS tire on our trucks and trailers 352 days a year from Alaska to Florida and have no problems. We simply don't see issues out here in the real world with the XPS Ribs in the winter.
Guess he will find out over time the hard way of what works best vs what doesn't.
I've had enough people tell me the XPS work in winter conditions that I'm satisfied. Just curious though as to how you think I phased the question as to back them into a corner . How did I phase the question when I inquired?
