The LT245/75-16 E is approx 30.4" diameter.
The LT235/85-16 E is approx 31.5" diameter which would leave you with approx 2" between the tires.
Also, remember that LT245/75-16 E needs a 6.5" wheel too. Important issue if you want warranty coverage on the LT tires chosen.
I am a fan of the M895 Bridgestone tire but we get a lot of rain and travel with the potential of snow in the passes of the PNW as a year round single track rider / camper.
