That thought crossed my mind as well, but I was going to have to loosen one of the hooks anyway (their instructions said this a common necessity) and once the hitch was on (and I don't plan to ever take it off) you wouldn't notice I had bent it in unless I brought it to your attention.
What also doesn't show in my pics is the dent in the corner of the bumper from hitting a deer at 70mph ;-)
