I can't imagine not using our tanks. More often than not we haul our water from home so we know what we have for water. Black tank gets dumped when needed not every stop either. Grey gets dumped as we fill it up too fast.
That is what the tanks are for.
I hope this was a fluke but it sounds like very poor design.
