bouncing

just went on a 6 hour road trip and noticed this new trailer bounces alot. can you put shocks on to slow the bounce i dont think it has e-z flex. its a seirra select 329re. i just sold a newer crusader built by forest river also and it had it.

  • Did it bounce on all roads or just some? We bounce on concrete highways where the joints are evenly spaced.
  • Bucking and chucking, especially when crossing bridge joints, was the main reason we traded in our fifth wheel. I always thought that a better hitch would have improved the ride.

    You probably can. You might want to contact the manufacturer and see if they sell a kit to add them. Also take a look at the frame yourself and see if you might have the brackets on the frame already.

    I'm not a big believer in shocks on a trailer, but some folks around here are. Probably about a half/half mix. But in the face of an obvious problem like you have I would look into adding them.

    But before I did that I would have the trailer wheels/tires balanced and consider upgrading the shocks on my truck.

    I see that trailer has a remarkably high cargo capacity. Have you tried running with full FW tank?
