You can always "work down" to straight electric brakes and if you ever upgrade to an Electric/Hydraulic system. you are ready. - laknoxNomadMy "trailer guy" recommended the P2 over the P3...unless I was going to spring for an electro-hydraulic disk brake system which is what the P3 is geared towards.

It appears to be a "Time Delay" controler. Meaning that it will fully apply the trailer brakes a few seconds AFTER you hit something.
I would trash it. and get a good proportional controler. Like a Prodigy P3 or the like. You want a controler that will apply the trailer brakes when you hit the pedal. Not a few seconds later.
