I believe the problem comes from trying to use the existing wiring harness with the new controller.
I have a 2012 Dodge. It can't handle the electric over hydraulic brakes.
I told the Tech to ignore the Dodge circuitry, put in a new controller and wire it totally separate, including a new in-bed 7 pin trailer socket. The computer doesn't know it is there, so no EVIC errors.
