Broke the rear window in our truck a few days ago. It happened while doing a turn going forward in a parking lot. The lot had a slight downhill grade. I wasn't turning any tighter than I have in the past. Now I'm looking at auto sliding hitch options.I'm looking at the Pullrite and the Demco hitches. I would like something that would work with the Ford puck system. It looks like the Pullrite may sit too high for my 5th wheel to sit level.Any feedback would be appreciated.Bob

Friend of mine has a new Ram with the puck system. After mounting the window and Pullrite Super Slide, I thought it looked high. As it turned out his trailer was just a 1/2" high. Not sure how it would work for a Ford.

My Pullrite Superfifth with the puck system is below the the top of the rail and I have about 5-6 inches of clearance easily. I suggest you give Pullrite a call and talk to their tech people. They have exceptionally good customer service and will be able to tell you what you need to know.

Sorry to hear of your damage! I think most any slider, used in the puck system is going to make your FW a little high in the front. IMO, an inch or two nose-high is not a problem.I am curious as to how far back your pin is from the cab? I know circumstances can change quickly, such as a down hill. Were you making a forward U-turn? I have towed many years with my pin 40.5 inches behind cab, and last several years at 40 inches back.What hitch are you using now? Some standard hitches have good adjustment ahead/back. The center of your 2013 Ford axle should be at 41 inches.Hope you find a workable solution!Jerry

I have a Husky fixed hitch. I'm not sure the distance from the cab but I will measure. My hitch doesn't have any front to rear adjustment.ThanksBob

I have a Mor/ryde that is compatible with the 1621 pinbox. I believe this is an extended pinbox already.

Just a thought also is that there are either 2 or 3 different lengths of the hitch that bolts on your fifth wheel. Its possible you have the short one and could upgrade to the longer one and fix your issue.

Replace pin box with Sidewinder (OEM is called 'Revolution'----aftermarket Sidewinder)

Pin box rotates on turret at pin box mount (can be locked out to use as conventional pin box for other towing needs)
Moves pivot point approx. 44" back from hitch pivot.

Less expensive option vs NEW sliding hitch

Thought moved pivot point 22".

I understand what you're saying. I would never do a 90 degree turn as it stresses the tires, axles and suspension. The corners on our 5th wheel are recessed several inches behind the pin. I never expected a problem going forward. I'm very careful when backing up. I would prefer not to go with an auto slider because of the extra weight. I remove my hitch frequently. A long bed truck isn't an option because it won't fit in our garage.

You do relize half the width of all trailers is 48" or a bit more. If you have a rounded cap, it would still need be no more than 38" from center at a point half the width of the cab, that would be to achieve a 90 degree turn, so the othe issue is shape of the front cap, it likely sticks out more than the bottom!!!
If you don't want invest in an auto slide, get a long bed, then no issue.
