We bought ours off the lot, primarily because it was equipped very much like we would have ordered it, and the price was right. Yes, we had to compromise on a few items, but the dealer was 1000 miles away and we were going to be in the area anyway for other reasons. Under these circumstances, it made sense to us to purchase the unit on the lot.
So, I guess it all depends. If you can find an RV with your "must haves", then go for it if the price is right. If not, then order it the way you want it. It's your money and your choice.
