- colliehaulerExplorer IIIYes, I see a major problem a hitch on a bumper. The bumpers have been known to have failed with the weight of a bike rack and bikes.
Bumper is very thin metal. - Golden_HVACExplorerWhen you go around the corner of most vehicles, usually people walk pretty close to that corner of the car/truck/RV. You can whack your leg on that rack. .
Good luck!
Fred. - JW_of_Opechee_SExplorerWay too dangerous for me: sitting that low where the person behind might not see and hit it sending gas everywhere. Don't be surprised if you get pulled over and asked whats in the containers, gas should be in one of those old metal tanks they strap to the sides of jeeps.
- B_O__PlentyExplorer IIMy biggest concern would be that light gauge bumper falling off...I would check it and have it reinforced..
B.O. - ScottGNomadMy biggest concern is that even in a mild rear end collision, both vehicles will be covered in gas.
- MFLNomad IILooks like you did a nice job!
Another concern would be the weight on the bumper. Besides the two large jugs, with carrier, I see a bumper mount spare tire, and a bumper mounted trailer hitch.
Hope it works well for you,
Jerry - MfanExplorerHope it's tied down well and no one rear ends you.
- midnightsadieExplorer IInice, did you make it theft proof?
- JdereuExplorerTe gas has a vent on it.
Ya I do all the metal work for myself this was a Saturday the fiancé is away what can I build haha
It is all bolted to the bumper so easily removable - mleekampExplorerI like it. My concern would be the fuel expanding in the open sun. Do you have the vent line open or a vent tube for the gas?
Did you do the sheetmetal work yourself? Nice.
