Ok new question: for you full timers do ya'll think that the trailers from say anything before 2010 back to 2005 are better built than todays techno ultr lite trailers? Our issues have to do with us staying in places for months at a time, and different weather issues so we are trying to determine which is the way to go. Weight doesn't have a issue in this. we want something that will last say at least 5 years and not rust out. we don't abuse or stuff if that helps
I'm sorry, but weight absolutely has an issue in this. There are plenty of fivers out there that will easily overload your tow vehicle. We were looking used ourselves when we upgraded from a TT to a FW to get the best value. We were visiting a dealer to look at a used unit he had. While there it happened. My wife walked into a new one that was on the lot that was "the one". We had done our research, compared brand and prices, compared floorplans, chosen colors, etc and it fit everything. And as fate would have it, it was a discontinued floor plan and on clearance to make room for the unit taking its place in the line up. We knew they were eager to move it so we got it even sweeter than advertised. Now, I said all that to say this. Look at as many as you can stand. And when you are done...look some more. You never know what's out there, and when you find "the one", you will know it. New or used is up to you and what you want in a unit and wish to spend. Be open to both options, but in the end, buy what you want and what you like. Cause if your not completely satisfied and happy with it, it really doesn't matter if a few bucks were saved.
