Hi. My wife and I have decided to purchase a new 5th Wheel and I could really use some advice regarding where/how to get started. Here's what we know so far: 27 to 30 feet "Couple's Coach" with high-end amenities and reliability. Budget is $50-70K. We live in So Cal and are having trouble locating a reputable dealership. So far, the Jayco Eagle HT looks great. Wondering if it makes sense to buy factory direct. I welcome any advice you have to offer. Thank you!
While the Eagle HTs are nice rigs (#2 on my short list), I wouldn't go anywhere near calling them "high end". I agree on the Northwoods lineup of FWs, but you're only going to find 1 or 2 models in the length you're looking for. You =will= need a 1T to tow them, IMO. A single rear wheel would be fine for the smaller to midside models, but dually for the larger ones. "Around 30'" and "high end" just don't seem to go together, with very few exceptions.
