Counter space, front bedroom and toy hauler just don't go together in a bumper pull trailer. A toy hauler with a decent front bedroom is going to probably have the bathroom behind the bedroom which take up space, to get the toy hauler space something has to give and it's usually counter space in the kitchen because it's part of the hauling area. In a 35' rig you will probably have a little more counter space but not a ton. Toy haulers with the most kitchen space seem to be haulers without a front bedroom as the bathroom is usually on one side of the front with the kitchen next to it so there is more opportunity for counters.
I pull a 28 foot toyhauler with my 3/4 ton pickup and have to say I don't have a lot of weight left, I figure my hauler is running close to 10,000 pounds loaded with toys and 7200 dry.
Yes I'm finding this out that counter space doesn't come easily in a toy hauler. Unfortunately its a deal breaker for the wife. I'm willing to give up some haul space for this though. My toys are pretty small and don't require much space.
I guess I should also start looking at the weights on these. I believe my capacity is 12000 pounds.
I'm a wife, and yeah, the lack of counter space in our current one really sucks. I end up using the table on the dinette a lot, or more often than not, I just cook outside. We have a folding table that I set up as my "kitchen" along with our Coleman stove/grill. That's one of the main things I want to upgrade when we move on up to a 5er... more counter/kitchen space. But looking at that Carbon 31, I would think that would have enough to do some basic cooking, especially if you get one of those cutting boards that can fit over part of the sink. And, it at least has an oven! Ours doesn't.
