*ANY* DMV office can provide the *WRITTEN* Class A Non-commercial test, and for sure they *do* know about it.
Once you pass the written test you then must go to special DMV locations for the driving test. (where they have room for the vehicles involved).
CHP *does* check locations (roads) frequented by serious toy haulers,
CO river, Glamis, Pismo, various race events, etc.
BTW - Don't go to those places, so why bother?
Get in an accident, and most cops will check for appropriate DL.
Even if he/she misses it - you can bet any "accident" attorney will know!
Even if not your fault - you may still be liable.!!
(Ignorance of the law is no excuse = much the same as driving w/o a license. Likewise, a claim the DMV didn't know about the license is laughable)
