Cab to trailer clearance
I have a CC 6 1/2' box Silverado 2500HD. The pin box on a fifth wheel I am looking at is 12 inches in front of the trailer front cap. Is there a formula to see if I need a slider hitch.

The rule of thumb is minimum 48" from the center of the rear axle to the back of the cab for a standard fifth wheel hitch so the trailer will not hit the cab when turning.
