Many are letting their landscaping die around here. Not pretty.

Of course! We still have to keep funding that bullet train! :) After all, we should keep pouring money in to that rather than desalination plants. It's hard to find salt water here in California.
I digress.
2nd that!!
But wait what will I do if I can't get from Bakersfield to Modesto in 1 hour? Because of course those are my two favorite cities in CA................NOT! - DirtclodsExplorer

I have gotten a permit up in Kennedy Meadows (and asked for one every time by a ranger).....never in the desert.

Something it doesn't say you need at least one person (by) your fire if it's burning. - coolbreeze01ExplorerAs dry as it is, I'm surprised campfires are allowed anywhere. I'm glad most campers are fire safe.
"Prado Dam fire spreads to 1,020 acres; caused by unattended fire." - KCFDCaptExplorerI have issued many CA campfire permits during my career as a fireman. I have checked for permits many times. I carry a permit book rather than a citation book when checking. The only citations I have written were when the fire had escaped the fire ring and the person did not have a permit.
Happy campers make good campers. - Y-GuyModeratorI figure everyone is California is going to need a water permit pretty soon too ;)
- Golden_HVACExplorerSort of like the correspondence school that Taxi drivers are trained at?
Just wondering?
