It depends on the internal circuitry of the device, especially it's own power supply. Laptops and the chargers you mentioned are generally happy with MSW. Some TV's may not like it. Micro's are a big no.

MSW applied directly to AC motors is espeically hard on them.

While MSW is more efficient than PSW, I think it's worth it to use a PSW for general use just to be safe.
