Your confusing the 2470 lb dual application on the tire with tandem axle trailers.
The dual weight number is for a dual rear wheel such as a dually truck.
Any ST225/75-15 D will have around 2830 lb capacity at 80 psi for a single wheel application such as your tandem axle trailer.
It can be confusing when someone calls their tandem axle trailer a dual axle trailer as we do have trailers out here with tandem duals = 8 tires on two axles.
Call Dexter or Rockwell American axles as only they can tell you what your options are.
