Wow thanks for the correction JIMNLIN you are so correct. I was having a total brain block there...I went back and made the correction... good call. The tire is e-rated at 2830 as a single. I did some more research and found out that Dexter has acquired the AL-KO brand. Now what is interesting is in the literature from AL-KO, it shows the 4400 pound axle that I have with a 10 inch application, but the 5200 axle has the 6 on 5.5 with 12 inch drum with 2 inch brakes. So my thought is that the factory ordered them that way to be used on this fifth wheel for better braking or someone has done a complete drum and brake upgrade...can there be any other explanation? I'm leaning to the side that someone did this upgrade if you know what I mean. Now the question is what springs are actually on there...I will try and answer that when tomorrow comes. I'm totally getting what lener is saying about upgrading. Now that I see that I have the larger brakes and drums already... just wear those out and upgrade in the future to even bigger brakes and drums for even better braking performance and longevity... just keep the axles and springs where they are and just keep the weight down.
