can i tow 20-23 footer with v6 manual?

I towed a 32' 5th wheel with a f250 with a 300 6 and a 4 speed tranny all over the eastern USA including the Mts. of west Vig. Never a problem I didn't break any speed records but it did the job. As I recall the trailer was about 5000#. The fiver I pull now is 12000 and I use an F350 power stroke a heck of a lot more power and room (crew cab) but I don't regret starting out the way I did. I remember pulling Big walker mountain in West V. in 2nd gear in the slow lane I didn't hold anyone back and I was not a safety hazard. My normal speed was the speed limit for trucks. No problem. The big difference was cost about $35000.00 difference in the trucks.

Towed an 18ft travel trailer with my V6 98 Pathfinder for years. Total kms, 465,000, towed over 150,000 kms.

If you're on a budget, or like the tow vehicle you have, you can find something that works just fine.

On this forum it is always "bigger is better" no matter what the setup is.

I think you are facing an uphill battle while going downhill. I think you are SOOL on this one dude.

The new F150 is up to the task with the V6 EcoBoost.

A V6 will have a rather low tow capacity to begin with. Most manufacturers rate their manual transmission equipped vehicles lower than the ones with autos.
So, you combination of a V6 and manual is probably going to have about the lowest tow rating possible.
I suggest you upgrade your vehicle to something more suitable for towing. Then you will have many options for a trailer.

If you can find and afford a 6 cylinder diesel, that might work. A BMW X5 diesel, or a Jeep Grand Cherokee diesel, each of which is rated for 7,000 lbs might be enough. Those 3 liter engines are very strong. But I don't think either of them is available with a manual transmission.

And once you get a tent trailer to be pulled by your 6 cyl... it will be hard to blend in while boondocking on the city streets in CA like stated in your other post a few days back..

Are there any FW THs that short? I agree, a V6 just won't cut it. About the only suggestion I could give you would be one of the Coleman pop-ups with the front utility deck to load a couple bikes or a quad on.
