Cant for the life of me figure out how to fill water tank?

We have a 2016 XLR 24hfs. We have managed to camp at places that have all had water hook-ups except one. So I thought ok, no big deal. We can fill the water tank... Not so simple, or I am a moron, on...

The vent isn't as large as the inlet line. It is possible that the tank can be ruptured or split along seams, where the fittings are installed into the tank or a line blows.
