Without reading through several pages here....I recently replaced my original batter operated CO detector. It would randomly go off, even when nothing was running. When I replaced the batter, there was a sticker on the underside that said to replace it by a certain date. Well, I was over by almost a year, I have since replaced the detector with a new one from Lowe's and have been good ever since.
