Carlisles ST's? Straight Up, Yes or No?
Replacing tires on 30' Cardinal tomorrow. Had decided on Cooper LT's. Having 2nd thoughts and really in a dilemma. Have heard so many horror stories about Carlisle, but also hear they have cleaned up ...

Since this forum is for 5th Wheels, I'll limit my response to that type of RV. Since 1996, I've purchased the following 5th wheels, all new. The tires that came on them were:
1996 Jayco Designer 3030RKSS - Goodyear Marathons (don't recall size) - an ST tire
2000 Jayco Designer XL 3610RLTS - Goodyear Wrangler HT - LT235/85R-16 LRE
2004 DRV Mobile Suites 36RE3 - Goodyear G614 RST - LT235/85R-16 LRG
2014.5 DRV Mobile Suites 38RSSA - Goodyear G114 - 215/75R-17.5 LRH
Please note that, of these 4 5th wheels, only 1 came equipped with ST-designated tires - the Goodyear Marathons (which failed, by the way, with a tread separation on 1 tire - >$2K damage to 5th wheel. Goodyear replaced all 4 as the other 3 were showing signs of impending tread separation. The tires were 3 years old at the time of failure/replacement.)
2 came with LT-designated tires from the RV manufacturer.
If you want to run ST tires, fine. Your money, your choice.
