Replacing tires on 30' Cardinal tomorrow. Had decided on Cooper LT's. Having 2nd thoughts and really in a dilemma. Have heard so many horror stories about Carlisle, but also hear they have cleaned up their act. Please don't recommend any other tire as I am confused enough, lol. Thanks ya'll. (my search did not answer my specific question.)
FWIW, I ended up with the newer Carlisle E-rated tires on my FW, which is placarded for D tires. I didn't have time to wait for the Maxxis I really wanted and these were recommended by the Discount Tire that my whole family goes to as the best alternative. The fact that they do NOT have a 65 mph speed rating, says something, IMO. So far, they're working well, though starting to show a bit of weather-checking. I keep them covered and on boards in storage, but the AZ sun is hell on stuff, even in the shade. I run them at 80 psi at all times. FWIW, if you have 16" rims, don't even think about the Carlisles and stick with a good LT. The Coopers should serve you well, if you don't go with something like Ribs, R250 or Commercial TA or the like.
