Champion, Honda, and Yamaha all have quiet, 2K watt inverter generators that can be paralleled in order to power heavy current draw items, a minimum of a 3K watt genny is suggested for reliable RV AC usage under most conditions. Many choose this route and only bring the secondary genny when AC usage is anticipated. This method can prove the least economical.
We went with the remote start Champion 3100 since we are accustomed to the one button simplicity of our Onan, it's a workhorse and easily powers the AC on our 33' TT on eco-mode, tested at over 8K' elevation. Although we didn't need a generator having one already onboard, I found an amazing deal on the remote start Champion last year that I simply could not pass up.
Over a hundred hours thus far and it has performed flawlessly. Called over to Champion customer service and told them I primarily camp at high elevation, had a high elevation jet at my door a couple of days later. Great customer service and plenty of parts availability, plus a 3 year warranty makes me an extremely happy camper.
