Fulltime traveler here with 40 ft 5th wheel. It came with 7000 lb Lippert leaf spring axles. I'm taking it to a trailer shop next week for probable alignment issues. Depending on their diagnosis and estimate, I could opt to just replace them with torsion axles. Has anyone else made this switch? Looks like the Morryde axles are much more expensive than Lippert torsion axles.
it will be much cheaper to get the axels aligned than to switch it a torsion type system. but one thing is if you don't mind spending the money and doing then then look into disc brakes at the same time.
Actually, the drum brakes work just fine for me. But if they look underneath and say I need new axles besides the alignment, I'd like to line up my options. That's why I was looking for opinions about different manufacturers.
