If you are installing a hitch on your truck I suggest getting a set of bolts from Reese or other hitch manufacturer. I re-installed my old hitch on my new truck (2006 2500 to 2014 2500) and it required new brackets and bolts that are specific to the vehicle. The bolt kit came with square washers and the bolts were carriage. The square shoulder on the bolt engaged the square washer. The washer kept the bolt from turning.
