Cleaning front cap...how do I get these streaks off?

I am trying to clean the front cap and can't seem to get these streaks to come off. I bought the Wash Wax All kit but it does not seem to be taking them off. It will lighten them up a little but that is about it. I am sure others have had this issue...is there something else that will work better against this and be safe for the finish?

Looks like my front cap after sitting all winter. Also the rear cap. This week is clean up week. Will wash it and then use Meguires #50 Cleaner Wax and all will be pretty again for the season!
Any cleaner wax for fiberglass will work but I have always had great results with Meguires.

  • I bought the blue 'black streak remover' stuff from Walmart. It was about $8.

    IT WORKS!

DO NOT let it dry as it will leave a sticky film.

Yeah, you have to get the roof clean. Once you get the streaks off, the WashWaxAll will help with the streaks. We only have streaks where the decal points down the front of the 303.

Thanks for all the great replies and tips. So, several have said to get the roof clean...are the streaks being caused by the roof? What is the best way to clean the roof? Sorry for all the newbie questions...this is our first camper and we have had it less than a year now.

  • I suspect you might be talking about the streaks in the wax after washing and waxing. I have noticed the same thing on my front cap and really don't have a solution. Maybe a light buffing with a soft circular pad might do the job. I haven't tried it yet, but would like to hear from someone who has and what their results have been.
  • Go to GoClean.com and ask Mary Mopins if her ReNewZit product will do the job. Then be sure to clean your roof and protect it before cleaning your sides. After the ReNewZit be sure to put on her Advantage UV protectant. Tell Mary that rlgetman referred you. Thanks
  • I am pretty sure Awesome (Dollar Store) would take those streaks off. Seems to remove any streaks I have had on my rigs. The issue is it can be a little strong if not diluted properly. It will remove the existing wax and I would be cautious about using on your graphics.
