You should be good running the furnace at 55. It will probably not stay that cold during the daytime, so all should be good.
I would leave cupboard doors open, that contain water lines. With the pump shut off, you could also open all faucets, to allow room for expansion.
If you wanted, you could open the low point drains as well.
