Cold Snap

Last week, I sanitized the fresh water system on my 2011 Keystone Montana 3400RL 5th Wheel. Now this cold snap will bring temps down to 25 degrees tonight.

I used the Thetford system to sanitize and it takes about 3 hours so re-winterizing and re-sanitizing is something I would rather not do.

Instead, I have the furnace running at 55 degrees but I don't know if this is warm enough to protect the water lines. The rig does have a All Season insulation package on it. Does anyone have any idea?

Thanks!

  • Down to 25, furnace running (set to 55).....should be OK
Open cabinet drawers/doors where plumbing lines may run so warm air can circulate inside cabinets
Turn off water supply and open ALL faucets/shower etc. so water can expand if needed. Flush toilet to relieve water pressure on toilet water valve
