Columbus? bad Keystone Montana Moutainer much better?

Hi all,

still have not bought my RV.
going to visit RV wholesaler next week.

Following one of the post here I called Lakeshore Rv.

They mentioned to me that Columbus is far to be good and far to be at the quality of a Keystone Montana Mountaineer.
Not to mentioned that at RV Wholesalers they told me that Columbus is better than Sabre.

start to be worried about my choice.
so far the one that was pulling our attention and choice was the Sabre 36QBOK

is that true that the roof are not made with good rafter and after a while they sag and have water leak around the roof dome light?
Insulation is not done well?

true or competition bad mouthing?
  • Opinions are like..........everyone has one.........

    Personally either misinformed or badmouthing..........
  • I like the floor plan of the sabre 36qbok looks like it would be great for a family. sabre is just a notch below the columbus but not in quality only in bling. good luck in your choice and happy camping.
  • We love our Columbus. Only a couple of minor issues fixed on the spot. It is also my understanding that Columbus is the top of the Palomino line and Sabre is right below it. I have spent some time on the Forest River owners forum, on the Palomino subforum which is shared by Columbus and Sabre owners. Seems to me that most postings for both are pretty positive. Go check it out if you want. There is a thread about the model you are considering. You may want to check it out CLICKY HERE. Good luck.

People at our rv resort bought a house and are selling a Columbus fifthwheel.

    chevman
  • We own a 2014 Columbus 365RL. The Columbus is the higher end fifth wheel from Palomino. The Sabre is the line just below the Columbus. Both are well built. I believe both the Columbus and the Sabre are better built than the Mountaineer. Nothing wrong with the Mountaineer just felt a few things on the Columbus were better. The Mountaineer is a lighter Montana. They have to cut corners to make it lighter.
