Comfort Ride Hitch

I have a wife with a very bad back, and I'm looking for the most comfortable hitch possible. I'm looking closely at the Hensley, which I know is outstanding, but I would like to hear from anyone who has a Comfort Ride and what you think of it. If any of you know of a worthy competitor to either of these hitches chime in, but it cannot be a non cushioned fixed hitch. When her back acts up, she makes me stop at every rest area, which makes for a long day. Any advice appreciated. Tx, Don

Maybe it's time to switch to a class A pusher with air ride

That would be the best idea. Depending on your truck you could add air ride as well. Not aftermarket leveling bags, but actual air ride like the new Dodge has. https://kelderman.com/shop/2015-ford-f-450-pickup-4-link-rear-air-suspension as an example.
We use a Trailersaver on our HDT, it does let the front of the 5th float more.

She has worked as a nurse her whole life and it's destroyed her back. She's not comfortable in any vehicle. She'll lie down in the fiver. Thats what she really needs to do, safety issues aside. It's either that or give up traveling which is not an option for me. Thanks to you all for your good suggestions. :)

  • Another aspect of this to consider is removal. If you are a seasonal camper and need the bed of your truck for hauling, the Hensley TrailerSaver BD3 comes apart and can be removed by one person. If you intend to leave it in the bed of your truck, then this is a non issue.

In addition, the Hensley BD3 not only has air bags, but shocks.
  • I have been using a Comfort Ride 245 for 4 years now and love it. I don't think you could go wrong either way.
