If you are replacing your shocks with Bilsteins I found their initial compliance was stiffer than the OEM shocks creating a rougher ride. I like the shocks though as the ride is more controlled.
If your trailer is generating considerable bouncing and chucking forces and delivering them to your truck's frame then you should consider a soft joint between the trailer and truck. Our air hitch separates virtually all trailer generated forces from the truck but you still feel it when the truck goes over the bumps. Hard to get around that when you have an extra three thousand pounds in the bed. My tow was worse than bad with a solid hitch, now it is better than good with the air hitch.
