What is so sad about buying a FL floorplan? I don't see them as being inferior to any other floorplan.
Sure the storage maybe reduced but you gain head room and a very spacious/open floorplan.
For some storage is critical for others storage is no big deal.
I'm big on storage but I carry way more stuff than I need including a washer/dryer, outboard motor and folding bote!
