Compromise

I hate to compromise when spending so much stinking money. I won't be jumping fast in this change

What has worked well for me in a number of areas is to start used knowing you may upgrade in a couple years when you find your priorities. You probably won't loose too much over a year or two on a used RV and much better than taking a bath on a new one that isn't what you want.

over 36 ft isn't happening. I do not want to be put out of my state parks I love. finding what I want in a floorplan in that length isn't going well at all but I have time to decide. still checking models.

My wife and I just decided to upgrade to a TH from a bunkhouse floorplan TT. I originally wanted a slide and 2 captains chairs. We decided on the Desert Fox from Northwood mostly because of the quality of the unit. I compromised on the slide and now realize that it's actually kind of nice not having to worry about the damn thing. We have more than enough space and no more issues not being able to access the bathroom while underway!

I didn't compromise. I didn't even ask my wife any input.
I ordered what I wanted and bought it.

We went from a tent with us, two little girls and 2 labs so moving to our 23 ft hybrid toyhauler was like moving to the Taj ma-freaking-hall.

We were interested in a bath but how much time do you spend in the bath. Do you need two?

We do have a kitchen if we need but 95% of our cooking is done outside.

I was limited by the TV, a Tahoe and we want to do a bunch of dry camping but but the six of us have plenty of room to hang out inside if it's raining, hot, cold, mosquitos, etc.

Your area is much less densely wooded than WA. We just returned from a round trip from Park Hills, MO and agree whipping our 45' combination was brainless compared to some of the places we will not fit locally with the enclosed trailer in tow. We were looking at the larger TH's with 18' of garage or more and did not want to give up the locations we like to camp.

We did not compromize of the trailer when we bought it. It did have some things I would change or ad. We camp half the time in state parks. The wifey wanted the 1/2 bath I wanted a larger garage then 12'. We took some masking tape and parked our 2 quads and 2 dirtbikes within the area and I caved for the 1/2 bath. We generally know ahead of time where we are going and look at google earth and the campground info online and call to see if we will fit. The trailer and truck are 62' overall and I have not gone to some place I could not get into. Sometimes have unhooked the truck or had to have 3 or 4 back and forths to maneuver into the space. I am thinking of doing a custom trailer in the 44-48 length. NO Compromise !

If compromising means that every time you take that trailer out you think about the one you really wanted, then don't

I would end up buying an F450 (Which We can't afford) if I did that :W

The floor plan, decor and all the interior stuff is Her decision, I am in charge of the "weights and measures"

great posts and all good considerations. I sure agree it is a family thing for us also. that is why I am kinda trying to get something for everyone but in the end it will be 'me, the momma' that will end up with a smaller master to give what is needed for the others. :) it is cool tho. heck the luxury on wheels is really fine with what it is. beats the tent I used to use for sure.

but price etc is important. I know many things I could spend bucks on but fun for this family is a great emphasis. but I sure don't want to waste bucks either.


WE LOOKED at the Heartland Torque 325 today. nice. some few things didn't sit well but most of the space etc. was very nice. 1 ac won't cut it. toyhauler where kid room will be has to have another ac for sure. not sure if it is the one. 36 ft and it seemed massive enough. and pretty on the eye. not too bad on the wallet. at least I saw it, walked it, had the guy power it up and I checked it out. so that is one on the list right now. more to see for sure.
