Just living in your rig creates moisture in the air and cooking and showering increases it rapidly. Since getting a dehumidifier our moisture problem is gone. Since the unit produces heat while in use we only use it in the winter and it pulls about a gallon of water out of the air in a 24 hour period. We have a 499 sq ft 5th wheel.
JK, thank you. I think our unit is slightly over 320 sq ft. It is a Keystone Challenger 32SAT. My wife does cook but only uses an electric cooking plate. The oven is used for pot/pan storage and the stove top simply acts as a counter surface supporting the cook plate. The unit does not have an exhaust fan over the stove. We don't use the shower either. The campground shower is much better and I still have a shower surround leak that I still haven't spent enough time tracking down, not to mention the shower door does not sit squarley or close properly. I have considered a dehumidifier because of the positive comments found in this forum. My humidity level, according to the Accurite humidistat that I bought yesterday says I'm at 36%, at least in the bedroom, at 60 degrees. I believe there my be different "types" of dehumidifiers based on what I have read here. What are you using? Would you recommend the same unit?
