Converter trips receptacle gfci help needed...

Had the same problem, but mine was that I forgot my electric side of the water heater was on when I drained it, of course it burned up the heating element in it, not knowing that ,it kept tripping the breaker going to ground, did not matter what I shut off in the fifth wheel still tripped, until I discovered the heating element. Could this possibility be the problem.
