No, you're what I'd call over-sensitive. I'm the same person who's made several constructive posts to this thread, no need to take shots at me.
The full 9 tons isn't bearing down on the rear of your pickup, only the pin weight. On the other hand, the entire weight of a truck camper sits right on the rear axle.
You stated that the pin weight was 3,500 lbs. If you talk about 3,500 lbs over on the camper forum that would be considered a mid-weight. Many of the behemoth truck campers are weighing in over 5,000 lbs, all on one axle.
The axle you have should be good for over 9,000 lbs and having rubber good for that weight is a breeze. With a ballpark 3,000 lb empty rear axle weight you're barely over half load on the axle.
This isn't a necessity project, you're having fun. All the more power to you, it looks cool.
