I'm thinking that the rear axle, if not driven has to be liftable to clear the road.
Also the licensing is probably different for two axles.
Bumper heights have to approximate stock height.
I know a LEO one time who said he could do a roadside on a new car, fresh off the lot and find a citable offense. PITA
Lights are another issue.
Exhaust pipes are a gimme.
Studded tires in some states are a no no.
Seems like every time somebody said 'there oughtta be a law', they passed another one. - SecuritiExplorer

Man that really sucks! I would like to know what is the problem with your rear axle? There are Limos with extra axles on them so I can not understand what his problem was. I have never heard of mailing the citations to someone, hopefully he was he was B.S.ing you and nothing will come from the state. Please let us know what or if he writes you up for.
Will do. Thanks - TugCEExplorerMan that really sucks! I would like to know what is the problem with your rear axle? HATE 'Revenue Makers'.
Thanks. He was
At the scales. He left there. And chased me down. He said he been watching me for six months. He picked on EVERYTHING !! He even call for a tow truck. But it wasent big enough. And he couldn't find one. So he said it was my lucky day. And I will get citations in mail. I been driving that truck for 16 years with out any problems. - rehoppeExplorerOUch... Sorry to hear that. HATE 'Revenue Makers'. - SecuritiExplorerWell guys. I finally got D. O. T. In dodge. It wasent pretty. The short story is he said I will receive citations in the mail. And let me go. He did it all from measuring bumper height to taking pictures of the suspension in back. From what I can tell. Cuz he was very mean. Possible citations are going to be tires out past back fenders, back wheel spacers & having the l shaped fuel tank in back of truck. He said I need a licence endorsement to haul that tank. I will update when and if I get the citations. :(
PS: He said back axel can't be touching road. - rehoppeExplorer

Certainly Won't be over loaded then.
Have you had it up to highway speeds yet?
I thought maybe you were going to pull a 40' 5er of some sort. With all the stuff in the sleeper you can maybe register it as a Motor Home even. Don't know what Pa does to trucks for taxes, so may not even be necessary.

Thx for the help there Doughboy, But your advice May be a bit overmuch for what's really in this thread? Since he's working on a real truck Now, rather than the PU. Much more realistic for heavier uses.
If you read All the posts, you'd notice at the top of this page where I went back and found the change in equipment? But thx.:B - OldtymeflyrExplorerInteresting and fun thread.
I enjoy seeing the work you do and the ingenuity. Quite creative.
You are living proof that a man with tools and a welder, can be dangerous.
My question is, how does the 6x6 handle on the road, including ride? - SecuritiExplorer

Buying the truck camper was a good idea. Now you should have everything you need to turn the sleeper into a RV. As was stated registering as a RV is a great idea.
Where did you find the truck? I would love to pick something like that up and do something like you are doing. Once you are done you will have on hell of a towing beast plus being able to just use the truck for short trips is a big plus.
Please keep the updates coming it's great to see someone working outside of the box doing a project like this.
Thanks. I got the truck from a friend who knew someone in the fire department it came from. But I plan on having it registered as an RV. Plates are about $90 a year from what I can tell. - Doughboy12Explorer
