I have gone where most will no go. I am in the process of adding a 2nd drive axle. I am doing the work myself. As you can tell from the pics. I have came a long ways. I just have the bed work to finish the project. I will be extending the bed & dully fenders to have a full bed. Let me know what you think.The reason I am doing this is to handle the toy hauler better on the road.

To each, their own. :) The truck is definitely quite a beast. :BWith the tripple trailer axles, especially with them positioned so far forward on the trailer as yours are, with all or most of the garage area behind the trailer axles, I can't imagine the pin weight of the trailer being too much for a single dually axle to handle.How are you intending to connect the driveshaft between the 2 rear axles?

Iam planing on useing a NV-200 transfur case to tie it all to geather. That is another phase of the project. I just wanted to get the truck done as it is my only truck I got to tow hauler with. How much travel can the front axle have before it gets into the driveshaft of the back axle?

Are the angles of the rear shaft equal to one another?

Seems like I remember the rear axle pinion pointed at the bed? If so, CV would fix that.

TugCE may be on to something, maybe a swap from a U-joint to a CV-joint or split shaft (not a carrier bearing).(I'm not sure what they are called) you breaks the shaft into 2 shafts with U-joints on both shafts and a Double yoke between them. similar to sone steering shafts

It might just be the picture but the angle on the rear axle looks a little high. Do you think that might be the reason for your vibration?

Took it out for a drive today. Had a vibration. So now I have to work out the kinks. For the most part. I will not be running with back axle locked in all the time. It probly would bind like a truck in four wheel drive on pavement if i left it lock in all the time.

Surely that pig has to weigh in well north of 12K unladen right?

Where did you locate the 5er hitch in relation to the axles? I assume it had to be over the rear?

It weighs 11500 now. The hitch is between both axles. Seems to be working.
