- SoCalDesertRid1Explorer IILooks nice, very nice body work there on those fenders.
Did you get the second rear axle from a cab/chassis truck? It looks narrower than the original rear axle. - blakerExplorerLooks good you have done a lot of work.
Take a brake you,ve earned it. - SecuritiExplorerUpdated pics with fenders on.

I am going to take a brake on this project. Kinda burnt out. But fun - SecuritiExplorer

Hi,
My hats off to goood old American ingenuity. Did you hook up the second set of brakes and if so what about the master cylinder did you leave it stock. My one thought as yoiu build this is that the truck might want to plow straight and not turn sharp especially when its wet out and you have the pin weight of the fiver on it.
Wrench on....
Yes the brakes are hooked up. No problems there. I am going to throw 2 ton on sand in bed. And drive it around to see what it does. Thanks for questions. - solmanExplorerHi,

B.O. - I think I would have scouted a used class 8 tandem drive but it looks like it is going together quite nicely :)

Hi Neighbor! Nice project! It really takes guts and an understanding wife to do something like this!
Have you thought about swapping axle tubes and axles one side to the other? Then you could swap the left & right axles. Thus moving the back rearend over to allow the driveshaft to pass the front rear.
Does the regular Dodge transfer case have straight gear or Helix gears? Straight gears would allow it to run backwards and be turned around. Helix can not do that since they would put the thrust in the wrong direction running backwards.
Noticed you are a Nascar fan, maybe we will see you at a race. Would love to see this beast in real life!
It has straight gears. For that reason. I was thinking about useing anoyher 241 dhd case backwords to drive both rears. Thanks for info. Hope to see you around. Or give me a PM. Maybe we can meet somewhere. - SecuritiExplorer

This is going to be one heck of a RV Hauler. Have you driven it enough to see how much the mileage changed/dropped since adding the extra rear end?
No, I havent driven it enough to find out. The truck has 4.88 gears. And a gearvender aux tranny in it. I dont think it will change much.
