Again, do not over look the Bridgestone Duravis R250 at about 50 each less than the Ribs!
And I do not think Rick knows what he is talking about.
LIMITED WARRANTY
This Limited Warranty covers new BRIDGESTONE, FIRESTONE, LEMANS, DAYTON and PRIMEWELL brand passenger and light truck tires. See “Other Brands’ Warranties” section below for applicable warranty information on different brand passenger or light truck tires purchased from Bridgestone or Firestone locations.
This Limited Warranty only applies to the original purchaser, and is valid if all the following apply:
The tire was purchased after June 1, 2011.
The tire is a size and speed rating equivalent to or greater than that specified by the vehicle manufacturer.
The tire has been used only on the vehicle on which it was originally installed.
The tire has not been used in commercial service (exception: certain coverage applies to Bridgestone Duravis and Firestone Transforce tires if used in commercial service).
Is it possible that Rick is referring to the next page in the Firestone Warranty book, pg 32, as follows:
"What this Limited Warranty does not cover"
"Improper use or operation including without limitation: ......,overloading , ...,, misuse, misapplication, ... , ...."
I think one could successfully argue that the tire wasn't overloaded due to the factory installed 6,000 lb axles but I think Firestone might be successfull arguing that a 5th wheel application for a Light Truck Tire might be a misuse and/or a misapplication.
I'm not a lawyer but I could easily see that this could be an interpretation issue based on who you were dealing with at a Firestone dealer or even at Firestone's HQ. I don't want to get into that argument because it would be too expensive to get a lawyer involved.
