Once again over-analysis leads to decision-paralysis.
I beg your pardon? Would you buy an RV or an Extended warranty without knowing whether it covers the RV? I am offended by your uninformed statement. I have about 30 more days before I absolutely have to get the new tires installed. After having been through two sets of ST tires in less than 20,000 miles. I am gathering the required data before switching to LT tires. I suspect there are others who welcome the information I am uncovering. For example, not one single RV.net poster on this list mentioned that Firestone did not warranty the tire on a 5th wheel or trailer before I uncovered it. Now I know and others do as well. What is interesting is that I received three quotes from Firestone dealers with out that being mentioned and when I went to buy the tires, the manager of the store refused to assure me that Firestone would cover the warranty and would not offer the extended Road Hazard warranty at all. That caused me to start asking Firestone Corporate what the official policy was which ended up having the Regional Manager call me. I expect a hard answer from Michelin on Friday. Then I will be back to an even playing field again. I may still go with the Firestone HT LT 235/85 R16's over the Michelin XPS ribs because there is an over $700 difference in price. But once I have the Michelin warranty info then I can compare the HT's to the Ribs better and make a final decision. I won't critisize the way you make decisions and I'd appreciate it if you didn't criticize the way I make decisions.
