Could someone define the acronyms of 5th wheel models?

There seems to be so many.
RETS, REQS, FBTS, FLSA, KPTS.
That is just to name a few from Jayco. I am sure there are many many more.
I assume F means front and R means rear. E is entry? Q probably means Queen bed.
A little help would be appreciated.

  • They are model identifications and mean different things to different manufacturers.
  • Typically;
    FL - front living
    RL - rear living
RE - rear entertainment (TV in rear)
    TS - triple slide
    QS - quad slide
    FK - front kitchen
    MK - mid kitchen
    RK - rear kitchen
    FB - front bath
    BH - bunkhouse
    BR - bonus room
    SA - side aisle
  • mine is a 29FKCS.

    Front Kitchen,

29 for a 31 foot trailer plus tongue.
C could mean Fiberglass sided.. as metal was standard. and fiberglass was extra charge
    S for Trailer. or nothing.

    Coachmen Cascade Premier

factory weight tag is a LIE... 7,500 when its really 8,300 EMPTY.
  • I read an article, possibly in Trailer Life or Motorhome magazine, that seemed to explain the model numbers and letters. They represented just what each manufacturer wanted them to represent.
  • The one thing I know if it has a B it is usually a bunk model. Mine a 315 RST and I have no idea why or what. Good Luck
  • I compared two, RL and RE. I looked like one was rear living (couch was at the back) and the other was rear entertainment (TV and cabinet with window at the back).

  • I'm with you. To many mfg out there using different letters meaning different things, and I'm not sure they all have a logical meaning. I can add one more to your list- S is for slide. I can usually come close so I'm not wasting my time looking in a RK when I want a RL.
  • Good luck! There is from what I see no rhyme or reason to RV nomenclature. It could mean number of slides, number of beds, placement of kitchen, living or bathrooms.
