So, our saga continues with the "new" fw. We were hit in our storage location within the past couple weeks (will post pics later), to the tune of puncturing our fiberglass, denting our license plate and putting about a 2 foot scratch up the back of the camper. We were out about 2-3 weeks ago to check things out, and it wasnt hit at that time. Pulled it home today, giving it a walk through and there it was.Of course after hours at the facility, i left a message. I realize the storage facility isnt at fault, it has cameras, although i dont know how extensive, so what are my options?Should i be calling the police? Its a private property storage unit, so doubt they can do anything. Just screwed?

You will need a police report to file insurance or go after whoever did it.

I would talk to management to see if they can determine who did it. If they can then have the management contact them to let them know they have video proof of them doing it and to meet with you in their office to settle. If they do not have video, then contact your own insurance and explain. You will probably only be out your deductible, assuming you do have coverage.

Just call your insurance company and file a claim. They will take care of the damage.

I dont have any clue. Im still planning on going out and driving through and looking around now that things are getting back to normal.

They didnt, and although they have cameras at the entrance, that is the extent of their camera usage.

Their contract says they wont be held responsible, and quite frankly, i dont want to burn any bridges.

Guess i took my medicine and moved on.

Looks nice! Glad it wasn't worse. Any clue as to what might have happened? Did the storage lot take any responsibility at all?

Been meaning to post this back up as a follow up. I got the FW back from the body shop last friday. What a relief. I was so mad once i discovered the damage, and being spring i had visions of my camper sitting at the dealer until the end of july.

Thanks again for everyone's expert help!

Would have been nice to have pictures of it showing where exactly it was located in the lot, and what was around it, and how much space beside behind and in front of it, looks like it hit and went upwards, no chance they had to move it for some reason and hit something?
Should be an easy repair and you wouldn't know it had ever been hit.

You are probably already thinking about it, but I would move to a different spot in the storage lot at a minimum. If it happened once, it can happen again. I have moved spots 4 times in my storage lot - all for easier parking. I am directly across from the main office with 4 cameras directly on my trailer. It is the best location in the place. Took years of getting to know the storage operator to get that spot.

Anyhow, thanks all for the info, and help.

Have an appt in 2 weeks to have it fixed. Dealer recommended body shop, and i'm pretty sure the same one who fixed our cracked shower floor.

Pretty confident now this will be behind us.

Now, if the sun would come out and dry things out. due out camping in about 5 hours and we're still soggy.

A good RV body shop can make the repaired area look like new with no leaks. You won't need to replace the end cap.

A decent fiberglass guy could make it invisible. A scratch and a hole, probably no other damage.

Sorry for the double post here, but wanted to ask a question on the repair without it getting over looked.

To those in the know, from what you can see, does this look like something that will require a total end cap replacement, or am i better off finding a good fiberglass guy? also, is structure damage a concern, should this go to the dealer for inspection first and foremost?
