Darn Possibly Dilema? Advice Please on Two 5'vers!

As you know, DH and I put a deposit down on a 2004 Gulfstream Yellowstone 30FSK. I love it - the ONLY thing is that it didn't have a fireplace and, because of you all, I ordered one and it just came in yesterday.

Apparently, I have too much time on the internet and ran across numerous complaints regarding Gulfstream. Most of them were regarding MH, however. This has made me concerned, although this 5'ver seems to be in impeccable condition. We are to pick it up on the 6th of January. This is a cash deal. Here is the link: http://www.davesrv.com/pre_owned_detail.asp?sid=01762964X12K27K2013J10I28I44JAMQ6046R0&veh=3412885

Now, I ran across this: http://central-rv.net/?portfolio=2007-coachman-wyoming-332rlts

This dealer evidently is VERY small with only a few coaches available. Where we have our Gulfstream on hold is a HUGE dealership here in Oklahoma. This Central RV is in Ottawa, KS - about 3.5 hours from us.

Now, please give me your advice here on these two units. The Wyoming is about $4000 more than what we agreed upon for the Gulfstream. On the Wyoming, they will not budge on price. The Wyoming is 3 years newer and more fancy upgrades to it.

So, your expertise, opinions, etc., on these two coaches????? Is Gulfstream a good product? Wyoming better? We will NOT be FT in either coach - in fact maybe about 5-6 trips per year, so we don't need anything HUGE. The Wyoming is about 36'.

I can't wait to hear what you all have to say on what MAY be better for us down the road. Is Gulfstream a good product??? Coachman better????

  • Maybe a better question to ask is what is each seller offering for a warranty ?
  • Which is a better built coach and/or better deal? Gulfstream vs Coachman????

You will find many RV dealer advertise on ebay - especially used units.

You will also see a lot of RV dealers advertising consignment rigs on ebay, and craigslist.

My daughter works for a Honda dealer in the DFW area and they advertise new and used cars on ebay, and craigslist.

The seller in the link you posted has sold over 100 rigs advertised on ebay in the past year.

Yes, I remember when ebay was only a bunch of folks getting rid of stuff they couldn't sell at garage sales - but not any longer.

ebay is a very valid option for RVs, especially if you are looking for a specific used model.
  • I would go with the coachman.if he sealed to easy on the Gulfstream there is a reason.by not budging on the coachman he is at minimal profit
  • I also just found the Wyoming on Ebay. Here is the link:

Would YOU buy a 5'ver from ebay????? Maybe it is just me, but while the coach looks GREAT, something is bothering me....???
