Dealer Discount

Neighbor is looking to become a first time RV buyer. He's looking at TTs in the St. Augustine area. How much dealer discount could he expect to get on a NEW unit that MSRPs for $15000 to $16000? Just trying to figure where to start price negotiations.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions, comments.
  • You can get an instant quote from RVDirect.com on many brands and models. It's a good point to negotiate with a local dealer from.
  • Ignore the MSRP. Investigate online or by phone calling dealers selling the same unit.

Florida RV dealers may not be willing to sell their inventories at as low of prices as dealers in other states. Check the dealers in GA, too. Sometimes dealers will meet or get close to other dealerships' prices.

Getting the absolutely lowest price just takes a little work. See RVTrader.com. Or, visit one of the big RV shows where prices are more competitive when dealers are side by side.
  • HERE is another thread currently discussing this issue. I believe the consensus is usually about 30% off a true MSRP. Try to locate the MSRP from the manufacturer not the dealer.

Doesn't matter whether posted in TT or 5th wheel - see thread (5ths)
