This is a very interesting thread. There has been a lot said on here about decals. When we bought our first fifth wheel it was one model year old but never titled. The decal on the nose was peeling when we looked at it in November, the dealer ordered and replaced the decal before we picked it up the next April. Two years later we decided to "upgrade" from the Mountaineer to a Montana. At the time we traded the Mountaineer in, the front decal was just starting to peel again.
The Montana logo on the nose of the "new" trailer was beginning to peel as well (and it's NEW), in fact that dealer ordered a new decal and we took the trailer back in a couple of weeks later and had the bad decal replaced. It's one year later now and so far we have no peeling! I hope we don't have an issue, time will tell.
I wish an expert installer could chime in and tell all of us what exactly is going on with these decals. Is it in the application or prep? Or is it the quality of the graphics themselves, or the conditions in which these decals are subjected to.
Why is it some decals NEVER peel? We park our trailer in a secured storage lot with a bunch of other RVs, motor homes fifth wheels and travel trailers, some old, some REALLY old and some fairly new. Some are faded and some are peeling, all different manufactures. I just don't get it!
BTW, I started using 303 on the decals on the Mountaineer religiously after reading about it here on this forum, especially on that front decal. The sides were just fine but the big one on the nose did beginning to peel. Bummer :-( I'm using it on the Montana as well.
