I had the same thing happen with my EZ-Flex. I just got around to changing them out this spring and the new rubber is much stiffer than the old. The old rubber compressed to about 1/4 its original size right off the bat, whereas the new rubber hardly deforms at all. But the ride is still excellent.
IMO the EZ-Flex is the best single thing I've done to my toyhauler.
